It is curious to note how substitution takes place, while the underlying mechanism, purpose and intent remain the same. It is even more curious to observe how these substitutes are supposed to be completely different things than the so-called originals.
It is said that throughout the human life the total quantity of vices remain the same. Feel free to apply to other things as well.
Nothing actually changes, only the appearance thereof.

Well said my friend. I was just utterly wasting my time among the 'people' of this world and.. without much loathing, I dare to say that mechanisms of mating are clearly subject to the aforementioned thoughts expressed by you. This night, as numerous nights before, showed me nothing more than DNA driven mating process, which is usually dubbed as.. well, a 'socializing event' within subliminal space of mind enhanced with excessive usage of intoxicating chemicals, i.e. alcohol. Fuck, Millions of years of evolution, and for what.. So that these water monkeys can reproduce??
